to system builders and distributors selling genuine Microsoft® Windows Vista®,
2007 Microsoft® Office system, and Windows® Small Business ServerTM 2003 R2 software.
It's called the BONUS PACK campaign and it's an offer-driven
promotion exclusively for system builders and distributors.
What it is:

Hundreds of dollars in FREE* (after mail-in rebate) offers for end-customers. Now you
can sweeten any PC deal with BONUS PACKS of valuable hardware accessories such as a wireless router, a print server, a photo printer, a portable hard drive, data migration hardware and software and even a smart phone!
- Packages for home and small business PC buyers. Customers can redeem a BONUS PACK of offers specifically designed for them.
- Offers redeemable with eligible genuine Microsoft software. Now you can add value while providing genuine Windows Vista®, 2007 Microsoft Office system and Windows® Small Business Server 2003 software to your customers.
All your customers have to do to qualify is purchase eligible software and validate it as genuine. No work is required on your part.

- If you are a system builder, you should promote and distribute PCs and Servers with
genuine Microsoft software eligible for the BONUS PACKS.
- Both system builders and distributors should promote the BONUS PACKS and the offers
with the complete set of tools available, including web content syndication and

Does the value of the BONUS PACK vary depending upon which

Which Microsoft software is eligible for the BONUS PACK offer?

The Partner Locator Tool displays system builders who are Gold Certified,
Certified or Registered partners of the Microsoft partner program with a Primary/Secondary line
of business under the OEM Hardware Solution. In addition, the system builder must have acquired
a minimum of 5 licenses of eligible Windows Vista® parts from an Authorized Microsoft OEM
Distributor in the last 6 months. If your company meets these criteria, please follow these instructions:

Only customers purchasing the System Builder versions of
the eligible software with the part numbers listed at
www.localpcbuilder.com/eligible will be
eligible for the
BONUS PACK. Please be sure to explain this to your
employees and customers to avoid any customer dissatisfaction.
I'm a System Builder and would like to have special offers listed next to my company's name in the Partner Locator Tool. How can my company participate?
The promotion is open only to "managed partners" (those who have met
certain pre-defined sales criteria as determined by Microsoft) who are members of the
Microsoft Partner Program. If you would like to provide a special offer, please contact

How I can find out more about the BONUS PACK offers and how to leverage them in my efforts?
Which BONUS PACK can an end-customer get? They are very different.
End-customers are only eligible to receive the
BONUS PACK that is available for
the eligible genuine Windows Vista® operating system, 2007 Microsoft Office system, or
Windows® Small Business Server 2003 operating system they purchased. Please see

I'm a System Builder and my end-customer appears to meet the requirements for the BONUS PACK offer,
but received a message stating that their system failed to meet the eligibility requirements when they
tried to redeem the offers. How can they get their BONUS PACK?
Please be sure to closely check the terms of the promotion. If your end-customer meets the requirements
to participate in the BONUS PACK offer and feel they received the ineligibility message in error, please
have them click the "Contact Product Support" button on the error message page.
Are there any limits on the number of PCs or licenses I can sell or an end-customer can
purchase with the BONUS PACK offer?
There is a limit of one BONUS PACK per copy of genuine Windows Vista® operating system, 2007
Microsoft Office system, or Windows® Small Business Server 2003 purchased. However, there is no limit to the
number of genuine copies of eligible software purchased. All purchases made by end-customers between October 25,
2007 and August 31, 2008 and which meet all other requirements are eligible for the offer.
I'm a System Builder; can I redeem the BONUS PACK offers on behalf of the
end-customer?
No. System Builders or Distributors are not authorized to redeem BONUS PACKS on behalf
of their end-customers or resellers or for the System Builders or Distributors own personal or business use.
BONUS PACKS are to be redeemed by end-customers only and are for the use of end-customers only. It is a
violation of the terms for a System Builder or Distributor to redeem or claim the BONUS PACKS.
Is there any paperwork or online redemption process that end-customers have to complete?
Yes. End-customers taking advantage of the BONUS PACK offer will be required to
complete a simple software validation process in order to redeem the offers. Once validated, end-customers will
have to submit a rebate to receive reimbursement for their purchases from the offer providers.
Are there any Microsoft tools or marketing materials available to help me promote the BONUS PACK offers?
Yes, please visit www.localpcbuilder.com/partners for a wide variety of tools and marketing materials to help
you with this promotion.
How will Microsoft promote the BONUS PACK offer?
Microsoft will drive end-customer awareness through various demand generation vehicles, and
end-customers will redeem the offers directly through the third-party offer providers. All you need to do is
promote the offers to your customers.
